Nutritional Consultations

A variety of factors including age, breed, and species can affect your cat or dog's dietary needs. Furthermore, any medical conditions and your pet's preferences can make choosing the right food a challenging task.

Our veterinary team offers dietary counseling to help you determine what food will best suit your pet's needs.

We look forward to helping you and your pet by creating a veterinarian-approved nutrition plan that will help your dog or cat stay happy and healthy for many years to come.

Nutrition Counseling, Caledon Vet

The Dietary Counselling Process

To begin the consultation, we will conduct a physical exam and health analysis for your cat or dog to determine what nutritional requirements they have. This can include diagnostic testing such as blood tests and urinalysis.

From there, we may recommend changing your pet to prescription food products if we feel they will offer added benefits to your cat or dog that other products do not.

As pets get older, their nutritional needs change, so diet should be reassessed every so often. We will work with you to revisit the plan from time to time to make sure it is still working the way it should.

How can dietary counselling help me?

Our nutritional counselling services can help address concerns you might have with your dog or cat's health. Some of the things it can help with include:

  • Managing food allergies
  • Decode nutritional labels
  • Control health conditions such as diabetes
  • Help your pet achieve a healthy weight
  • Learn which and how much food to feed your pet
  • Choose food for your pet based on their needs
